Brutal Ruin

Heavy Rock three piece ‘Brutal Ruin’ are set to hit the studio next month to release a brand new single as a teaser for their debut album release towards the end of 2018. Martin Woodvine, Lead Guitar, Vocals and Founder, has been working alongside drummer, Phil Sawyer, since 2010 after finding a mutual love for heavy riffs and contextual lyrical content. Eight years on and four bass players later, Dave Pritchard joined the band and the trio are now rebuilding their fan base with a new brand and even more of a fierce sound!

Their current three singles are all available on Soundcloud but will also feature on their upcoming album. The influences of Black Sabbath, Metallica and Deftones show prominent impact in their songs, which demonstrate classic metal characteristics of distorted guitars, vigorous vocals and firm, forceful rhythms. The melodic structure varies between all three songs across instruments and Martin’s voice. During ‘Robot’ the song is strongly held by the deep, roar of Woodvine’s powerful vocals, yet the aggression of the rhythm section shows prominence through both ‘Visions’ and ‘Vitamin X’ from Pritchard and Sawyer.

Originally named ‘Lyve Bayt’, these three chaps rebranded themselves to suit the development of their sound after an early year rehearsal at their resident recording studio ‘Venombase Studios’, Stoke. This recording studio is partnered as a media centre alongside ‘The Boiler Works’ where Photographer and Music Manager, Emma Bridgwood, helped kick start their awesome new image with some bad ass photos!

I can definitely see 2018 being very kind to these guys so keep your ears open to hear when they are next releasing material, playing gigs and launching their album!
