I was 9 years old when I discovered rock music, sitting in my living room (probably playing My Little Pony) when I heard this amazing sound coming from the TV, it was 1987 and Def Leppard were performing their hit single 'Animal' on a weekly chart show called 'The Roxy'. I got up and stood right in front of the TV the whole time they were on. I couldn't believe my eyes and ears, the long hair, ripped jeans, twin guitars and even a one armed drummer!

Hi, I’m Libby and I’m twenty-one years old. I decided to get involved with Midlands Metalheads Radio because I’ve always wanted to be involved in radio and I think it’s great to have a station dedicated to rock and metal music. I was in the rock society at uni and I like a little bit of everything. But, I have a soft spot for pop punk. My fave bands are like the offspring, New found glory, oasis, arctic monkeys, badflower and SWMRS

My biggest teenage crush was rock and metal, and I never got over it. Age 13 I began my now vast vinyl, cassette and CD collection with bands like Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, AC/DC, Guns n Roses, Skid Row, Thunder, Y&T, DIO, Queensryche and White Lion. I discovered new music from Tommy Vance on Radio 1’s Rock Show and from rock nights at my local boozer, and I bought EVERYTHING. Classic Rock and Heavy Metal are still my best loved, but I’m also into Alternative and even some Prog.

Born in 1998 this girl has always been a mad one she would jump around and dance to all sorts of music. She later found passion in other forms of media such as art and photography growing up which was heightened by her love for music. Now studying in media production her passions have now become part of her education.

The year was 1987, the album was Appetite for Destruction, and the rest they say is history! Copey buckled up for the ride of her life on the good ship Rock! With a love of GnR, Skid Row, Crue, Poison, she docked a little in the 90s at grunge harbour, but is firmly back on board. Still loving the classics and all New Wave. She can often be found at many a gig and festival. Ahoy there m’hearties! Remember, if the boat is a-rockin’, DO come a-knockin’!!!

My love of metal started at around 10 years old when my dad first showed me Slipknots self titled album and instantly fell in love. As the years have gone my love of metal core and melodic metal has evolved with some of my favourite bands such as Ice Nine Kills, Gojira and Trivium. Music amazes me every day and I’m hoping I can influence my little boy to be a tattooed metal head like his parents!
